About the Author:
G. Robert is my pen name. I am the author, publisher and teacher of this picture book series on children's health. Parents, children and elementary school teachers across the nation are incorporating these resources in their everyday lives and classrooms. These books hold fun, simple and easy to relate to messages of acceptance, tolerance and diversity. Topics include pediatric heart issues, children's asthma and diabetes.

young photo I was born in Hagerstown, Maryland but currently relocated (from the metropolitan DC area) to Grosse Pointe, Michigan with my wife. I have been writing creatively my entire life and love the spirit of children. I started my career as a lawyer for nine years and then became an English teacher before writing Sillwee Wobbert, my first book. Based on positive feedback, I turned Sillwee Wobbert into a series and intend to write more children's books about kids' conditions that highlight the things those children have in common while celebrating their differences.

I have acted silly my entire life; it's who I am! I believe children grow through laughter, reading, and being who they truly are.

My interest in the "heart" stemmed from my lifelong diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse and increased with his nephew's congenital heart condition, truncus arteriosis. Also I had juvenile diabetes and understand what it is like to be treated differently by my peers as a young person. I make school visits to show how the Sillwee Wobbert books are an inspiring and uplifting way for children, families and health educators to learn and talk more about healthcare issues. I also make presentations about writing and the publishing process and am available for consultation. I relate enthusiastically with my audiences and, from personal experience, help kids understand how important it is to be accepting of differences in other kids as a mechanism to empower them to overcome adversity in their lives.
